Amusing Parental Moment of the Weekend

Mindy had to go to the bathroom and made a beeline to it with Emily hot on her trail (she has been quite clingy to her mommy lately). As she walks into the bedroom she happens upon an open door with Mindy sitting on the throne.

Emily: "Mommy, you going pee pee on the potty?"
Mindy: "Yes baby, Mommy is going pee pee on the potty."
Emily: "YEAH!" *hands clapping with wild abandon*

So, now I am sure Mindy's potty training is going well, and I have Emily to thank for the positive reinforcement.

This weekend was spent loading up music on my new iRiver, doing some shopping at the mall (picked up Mindy's V-Day gift from Emily), being slapped in the face by my daughter and yelled at by my wife, searching for those little foamy things that go over your earbuds (still haven't found them - anyone have any suggestions on where to look?), watching football, washing dogs, cleaning up around the house, getting stopped by a cop and told to get my inspection sticker taken care of (which still needs to be done), and marinating steaks I didn't cook yesterday (but will cook tonight).

Things that I wanted to do, but didn't get done? Get a haircut, vacuum out and wash the cars, get my oil changed and truck inspection sticker renewed, clean the bathroom, mop the kitchen floor, pull out dead plants from the flower bed in front of the house, get some wings from Hooter's for the game.

So, back to things I did accomplish. I loaded up 1180 music files on the MP3 player. I still have about 15 gigs of space and I hardly scratched the CD collection! Wheeeeeee! I found a homemade CD in one of our CD file albums of Oingo Boingo rarities including an entire concert from 1990 (that I happened to be present at in the audience which is cool). I find that funny, because their Farewell CD was recorded at another concert I was at. I have a legit concert CD and a bootleg - both of which I was in attendance. Schweet!

Baby Names

We are so blessed with a lovely daughter that it would be nice to have a little boy to round out the Barnes Clan. Despite such sentiments, there is no knowing what we will be blessed with come September. Still, I think this a great opportunity for a poll! Now, we still have a boy name picked out from when we were expecting Emily, so that is taken care of. So I will open up the poll for suggestions for a girl name. With that said, I give you all - The Poll!

I almost forgot one of my accomplishments for the week last week... I did our 2005 Taxes! We are getting a whole whopping $15 Federal Refund. (I know, don't get so excited) (NC refund is better, and is at least in the $400+ range)

It could have been worse... We could have had to pay the $15.

I really liked the Turbo Tax website - much easier to use than the Jackson Hewitt software I was using when I was doing taxes two years ago, in addition to being more user friendly than the H&R Block Website I used when I did my MIL's taxes that year.
