Weighty Issues
Feb. 1st, 2007 08:16 amYesterday I was typing out a lovely journal entry about scales and such and it went *POOF!* and was gone like Keyser Soze. So I will try again...
On Monday I bought a new scale for the bathroom. It is a cool Weight Watchers scale made by Conair, and it tracks up to four family members, starting weight, change in weight from last weigh in and overall change from starting weight. It even sets weight loss goals for reaching a target weight. Not bad for $18. (I had a $10 off rain check from Costco - go me!) I brought it home and played with it, and of course Emily had to try it out. She weighed 33 pounds, but proudly exclaimed to Mindy, "MOMMY! I lost 82 pounds!" I told her if she had lost that much weight, she'd be invisible, but now I am wondering if I have been watching too much Biggest Loser and Celebrity Fit Club in front of her.
I have set up my starting weight and have stepped on the scal a couple more times this week and was surprised to see good news. First I have to say this - I have a method of weighing in. In the past when I was doing Weight Watchers I would always go to the bathroom before weighing in (anything that isn't being stored inside makes me weigh less, right?). I would also take off my shoes (those things tend to be pretty heavy). But in the privacy of my home I figure I will weigh myself naked, before my shower but after using the facilities (sorry for the visual folks, but I gotta be honest). Anyway, I have already lost a couple pounds this week since my first weigh in on the scale - go me!
