Yesterday I was typing out a lovely journal entry about scales and such and it went *POOF!* and was gone like Keyser Soze.  So I will try again...

On Monday I bought a new scale for the bathroom.  It is a cool Weight Watchers scale made by Conair, and it tracks up to four family members, starting weight, change in weight from last weigh in and overall change from starting weight.  It even sets weight loss goals for reaching a target weight.  Not bad for $18. (I had a $10 off rain check from Costco - go me!)  I brought it home and played with it, and of course Emily had to try it out.  She weighed 33 pounds, but proudly exclaimed to Mindy, "MOMMY!  I lost 82 pounds!"  I told her if she had lost that much weight, she'd be invisible, but now I am wondering if I have been watching too much Biggest Loser and Celebrity Fit Club in front of her.

I have set up my starting weight and have stepped on the scal a couple more times this week and was surprised to see good news.  First I have to say this - I have a method of weighing in.  In the past when I was doing Weight Watchers I would always go to the bathroom before weighing in (anything that isn't being stored inside makes me weigh less, right?).  I would also take off my shoes (those things tend to be pretty heavy).  But in the privacy of my home I figure I will weigh myself naked, before my shower but after using the facilities (sorry for the visual folks, but I gotta be honest).  Anyway, I have already lost a couple pounds this week since my first weigh in on the scale - go me!

I have turned the light off in my office and pulled the blinds up so I can stare out my window and watch the snow fall.  Sure it causes traffic issues and people get annoyed about school closings and such, but it is so beautiful to just sit here in my office and watch the world turn white in front of my eyes.

Wherever you are, I hope you have something beautiful to watch outside the windows of your life.  :)

Top Chef - I am so glad Marcel didn't win.  The dude is just a pompous ass.  I even read he got clubbed in the head with a bottle at a club in Las vegas...  hehehe, I wish I could have seen that!

House - What was up with this weeks episode?  It made no sense to me.  Someone come up with some new mystery disease so I won't have to watch him do nothing but talk.  I like him better when he is being as ass, not a therapist.

American Idol - Jack Osbourne is gonna be one!  Not really, but I wanna see that guy who looks like him go all the way.  And really, why is it that so many people who think they can sing (but obviously can't) keep auditioning?  Don't they get it?  THEY SUCK!  What gets me is the parents who are pushing their kids, feeding false hope and making them think they have talent, and when the judges tell them that they aren't going to Hollywood they get all emotional.  Last night that one girl who's mom appeared with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra just bugged me.  Her daughter SUCKED!  She walks out of the audition all crying and stuff, and the mom goes back in the room and tells them her daughter has talent.  Lady, GET A CLUE!

Heroes - KICKS ASS!  That's all I can say...  I love that show.

I still need to catch up with my Tivo with Prison Break and Studio 60.
