Man, have I been a posting fiend today!

This just upsets me!

I applaud her for quitting because she wants to express her dismay at the feet dragging by the FDA.  It just goes to highlight the challenges we still face in this society.  It is sad when you have something at hand that can do so much good being kept from the public simply because they want to withhold it from the people, who in my opinion, need access to it the most!  Teens today are still practicing risky behavior, and teenage pregnancy is something we can eliminate if the right tools (such as Plan B) are available to them.

It just annoys the hell out of me!

I completely agree with you, but not just teen pregnancy but any unwanted pregnancies. Abortions are very hard on the body and if this could eliminate that we could save a lot of people a lot of grief. But then again they the whole abortion this is up in the air too.

Accidents happen even if you are being careful to avoid pregnancies and I think it's nice to know their is another option. Granted yes it's still available as a prescription but what happens on a long holiday weekend, doctors are out and you only have so much time to take it, if it were over the counter it is just a matter of popping over to the store.

Our government, shakes head.

What scares me more than this is that our government is becoming more and more biased to the conservative point of view. I think we need to look at what is good for society as a whole rather than bow to moralistic points of view. But that is just one of many opinions.

I thought there was supposed to be a clause about seperation of Church and State but Bush continues to force his ideals on the mass majorities in which not all of us hold those same ideals.

I agree with your opinion that it should be about the good for society and not based on their religious beliefs.

I'm a strong supporter of making the day after pill available & informing people about it. My Sophomore year of college I needed it, and while I might not have become pregnant even if I didn't take it, if I had my life would be significantly different. This was back before I had even met Rick (err, umm, not that I had sex before marriage, of course...). I was being responsible & safe and we had used a condom. Unfortunately the condom broke. I figured all there was to do at that point was pray that the timing was wrong.
Luckily I already had an appointment set up for the next day at student health services to get the birth control pill, and when I mentioned it to the nurse she made sure to set me up with the day after pills. The argument that teens will use them as a form of birth control is just insanity though. These pills are a high dose birth control pill. When you take them you get nauseous, and irritable, and hormonal. It's not pleasant. Definitely not something you want to go through every time you have sex, besides the fact that it's only 89% effective.
Stupid government!

Yeah... We should do something about. How about VOTE?!

Nah, that only works when you vote the way God wants you too. ;)

Proud to be a Minnesotan!

Minnesota had the highest citizen-voting rate at 79 percent for the 2004 election.
Of course, even though we're a blue state, there were an awful lot of red states out there...

How about Minnesota invade the red states?
