Weekend in Review
Jan. 8th, 2007 10:11 amAs usual we had an uneventful weekend. The weather on Saturday was jujst spectacular so we opted to go out and run a couple errands. Mindy had received a gift check from her Grandmother in Iowa and was wanting to get a photo printer for the camera I got her for Christmas. The check was enough to cover that, so we went to Best Buy to take a look. I noticed that the cost per hpto was something like $0.29 per print when you buy the paper and ink and I told her that it made more sense to just continue printing the way we have been - go to Costco. They print them for $0.17 per print and the photos are done in an hour. So we opted to skip the photo pronter and we'll most likely use the money to do the kids room. So now all we need to do is decide on color(s), and get all the supplies.
They opened up an Ashleys Furniture next to Best Buy so we decided to go looking for fun. They had some really nice stuff, and I am contemplating using tax returns to update our furniture... If anything, we found a really cool futon like thing they called a 'flip n fold' couch, in a deep chocolate brown, which we could use in the spare room (presently Emily's bedroom). That way we would have something functional for sitting purposes, and yet we could still provide a bed if we have someone stay over. I am pretty sure Mindy is in agreement that we can put the computer in the spare room, and if we get that couch (around $250), than she'd be very pleased with it. Of course we'll still need to pain over the lavender color on the wall... Otherwise it'll be too girly for me to work in. Still, it's all planning stages right now.
Mindy made a Chocolate Zuchinni Cake on Saturday night. It was very moist, tasty, but I think it needed a little more chocolate. She said she could ice it, but I prefer my cake plain. As I sampled it I watched Dirt on Tivo. I can see why some people are on the fence. The schizoid photographer kind of took away from what could potentially be an intersting show. I'll give it two or three more episodes before I declare my finaly opinion of the show.
Yesterday was just nasty! I stayed in, did laundry, and watched Jensen while Mindy and Emily went to Costco and the grocery store. We made a dinner menu for the week that we're going to stick to and it looks like it will be a yummy week! Meatloaf tonight, baked chicken tomorrow, spaghetti with pesto, and a coupl eother dishes that I can't remember right now - all good! Of course we'll make enough for leftovers for lunch... :-)
Okay, time to get back to work... Hope everyone has a great Monday and an awesome week!
