One of those days... In memory of...

Today I am working a half day at the office. This is because I have a funeral to attend later this afternoon.
Cheryl Wilson-Hamilton, also known as Aunt Cheryl, has passed away and her family and friends are gathering to pay their respects and remember her life today. Growing up, she was always Aunt Cheryl to me, even though she didn't have to be. In her small stature, she had a heart and a spirit that was larger than life, and she was walking proof that great things come in small packages. She left this life much too early, and there was still so much for her to do, but I think she will find a way to guide her unfinished work toward completion. She was a very driven person when it came to getting her work done, and I believe that trait has followed her into a better place.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, her mother, her older brother and sister, nieces and nephews, and many friends and collegues. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Date: 2002-10-18 08:51 am (UTC)The funeral was very nice... Many of her colleagues from Cal Worthington Ford were there, she worked there as a Payroll Manager. She had worked there for 31 years - she started as a receptionist when she was 16 and worked her way up. At the graveside service, I looked over my shoulder and saw Cal Worthington standing in the back of the crowd. I never realized how old he looks in person, and almost didn't recognize him without his cowboy hat.
