I feel like I have neglected my journal for most of the week.  I have been super busy with work and finding time for just me (unless it driving time between Charlotte and Greensboro) has been at a minimum.  Still, I guess there are things to be noted, documented, shared if you will...

My phlox that surrounds ther mailbox sprang to life after the brief rain we had last weekend.  It is a sea or purple flowers!  I am very happy to see some sort of hint of color outside of the house, especially when you consider that the yellow flowers of the forsythias planted immediately in front of the house are already giving way to green leaves.  Spring is ripping me off this year!  No folowers or blossoms seem to last for very long with these scitzophrenic weather changes.  All I can say is that Autumn had better last a little longer so i can enjoy the leaves changing color.  Yeah!

We watched Pursuit of Happyness last night and it was good, yet somewhat depressing.  I felt myself feeling panic at the thought of being homeless, trying to keep it together, so I guess that means Will Smith did a great job of portraying those emotions ov the screen.  Not a bad rental, but I don't think I would buy it. The same could be said for Rocky Balboa.  i watched it, Mindy didn't, but I liked it.  I wouldn't buy it, but now I can say I rented it.  At least I have a new movie coming and it should be here for viewing this weekend - Casino Royale.  Anyone have a review they would like to share?

I am in the middle of reading two books right now.  I am re-reading The Three Muskateers because it is one of my favorite books, and I am reading Gates of Fire which is essentially the story that documents in words (rather than pictures) what the movie and comic book 300 is about.  The beginning is a bit dry, but i am hoping it will pick us.  I have been wanting to read a little more lately, so I guess it is a good thing my buddy Jeff is sending my Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.  One more thing for me to read - yeah!

I think this weekend I will be spending some time working on the yard...  I hope I don't get burned because unlike SOME people on my friends list (you know who you are Michelle), my burn doesn't change into a yummy toasted brown.  No, I turn into a bright red lobster that has been dipped in boiling water so that my tail can be ripped from my thorax and dipped into butter for your dining pleasure.  Oh wait, Dana is going to Red Lobster for lunch and that may affect her appetite.  ;-)
