Date: 2005-09-01 05:21 pm (UTC)I looked up Sharon. I was thrilled to actually find it! I read the definition: "Plain"
*weeps*
I now know that by plain they meant an actual land area over in the middle east (you know, where the Rose of Sharon grows...) but as an insecure "I'm so ugly" pre-teen girl, it wasn't what I needed to see. Also, I wasn't fond of the name anyway because NO ONE had it! Now when I look at name trends I see that it was most popular about 10-20 years before I was born. Which explains why almost every Sharon I meet is old enough to be my mother. My dad is 11 years older than my mom and he's the one who picked the name out so it's from his generation.
