*heavy breathing*

I just worked out to Mindy's Biggest Loser Workout DVD... I more than doubled the time I worked out yesterday until I felt the need to stop, but that doesn't mean much since I only did it for 5 minutes yesterday.

But it's a start!

I have decided to keep my resolutions simple, and limit them to a couple resolutions so I don't feel so overwhelmed. However, I have also decided that vague resolutions never reach fruition, so I have decided to flesh them out a bit.

Resolution #1 - Lose Weight

Now I hear what you are thinking - "Way to be specific!" However, I will achieve this resolution by adhering to the following SMART goals: 1) Spend 30 minutes each day doing something physical (i.e. Walking, Workout DVD, Etc.), 2) Avoid Fast Food, 3) Eat a huge salad for lunch, and a small one before dinner, 4) Drink a big glass of water in the morning and before bed, 5) Use my Franklin Organizer to track my intake and activity.

These are more specific goals, which will let me realize my big vague goal.

Resolution #2 - Do Something Creative

I am going to take up painting. Or maybe something else, but I am going to create something this year! Something I can hang on the wall, step back with pride and say, "I made that!" And it'll be something worth looking at so that whoever I say that too will say back to me, "Wow! That looks great!" I see the have painting classes at the local A.C. Moore - I think I may have to register and give it a shot.

And there you have it. My goals for 2006. In black and white (or if you are viewing on my new Superman Themed layout, Red, Blue, Yellow and Black).

So far I am liking it. It has an easy warm-up and the portion of the workout I have made it through so far is very low impact (good for my bad knee). It has four different workouts that you cycle through week over week, and the thing I like about it is that the contestants who are doing it, they screw up now and then and it makes me feel good that I am not the only one who isn't the most coordinated money in the zoo.

My plan is simple - work myself up to the point where I am doing this workout comfortably, than I switch it up to Billy Blanks Boot Camp (probably end of Feb or early March).

I own three of his Taebo tapes. They kicked my ass and I gave up on them. :( Sad I know.

Well, I think Tae Bo is a tad advanced for me... I know when to admit I am a fat dude with limited range of motion and endurance. But one day - I'll be up to speed and ready to take on the Billy Blanks challenge!
