I think we're going to do a Standing Rib Roast for Christmas dinner this year. I just think it sounds good, and Mindy seems to be keen on having one, with some yummy Yorkshire pudding. What will be on your table Christmas Day? Beef? Turkey? Ham? Discuss!

I will be working Christmas day. I will probably be eating a sandwich. lol I'm not sure when my husband and I will do our "Christmas," but I'd like to do a traditional turkey. It doesn't matter though. If my husband wants something else, I'm ok with that too. Maybe a ham would be nice.

We start with a small apricot-glazed ham and then follow it up with a turkey (stuffed with fruit). I think it's a fairly traditional Christmas lunch/dinner, except that it's summer over here so we have a variety of salads with the main course.

We have a full blown Welsh dinner at the neighbors house. Beef, pork, sausage, turkey, yorkshire pudding, brussel sprouts w/ bacon, <-- this is the best if you have never had them, rutabega, mashed taters w/ gravy, carrots, parsnips, corn, wine, (non-alcoholic) for me this year, and then dessert which I usually bring. I think this year I'll buy a Bakers Square French Silk Pie instead of baking one. YUMMY!
Sheesh, I'm hungry now! :)

Mark's dad is talking about a TurDuckHen (however you spell it!)

I just keep thinking that if you're really not supposed to cook stuffing in a turkey and eat it-- then what about two more layers of meat???

Oh! Got the card yesterday! Handsome family!!! :)

We're probably having ham but I'm not positive, we're going to the in-laws so I don't know what the menu is. For New Years Eve turducken is on the menu, yum yum!!

These are the things you think of at 339am? Good lord...sleep man, sleep!

I don't know what we will make for Christmas dinner this year. My family abandoned the idea of big Xmas dinners about five years ago and made the move to pre-made finger foods and home baked goodies. We found the lack of cooking/cleaning/dishes that day to be a good thing for all of us. That way we could just kick back, watch games, chat, relax etc. Of course we have a small family, even when I am at my moms there are still only about seven of us.

I think we may continue the grazing tradition at our house this year since we aren't traveling until after the holidays.

When the dog wakes up to go outside and 'do her business' I find a way to occupy the time otherwise I fall asleep. I would feel bad if I passed out and left her outside in the freezing rain, so thoughts of roasted meat in the oven, horseradish, yorkshire pudding and gravy kept me awake last in the wee hours of the morning. It was either that, or daydream of, um, more lewd activities.

I would have chosen the latter, but that's just my horny self.

Well, Christmas Eve is going to be at my brother's house. We usually have a rib roast (yum!!) but this year it will be heavy hors'douvres (sp?). Christmas Day will be at my parents' house & will probably be ham.

Great, now I'm hungry!

I think my parents are coming over and bringing steaks with them. My mom is getting her kitchen redone next week, and it wil be mostly gutted.

I really could go for some of your ribs though!

Let's see...

We'll be at my parents on Christmas Day so we will most likely have some sort of poultry and ham. And lots and lots of snack food and sweets. We pig out every Christmas.

I'll be in Kernersville on Christmas day! Can I come over? Hee, hee. Actually at my house we're having a big yummy southern breakfast and then grazing and eating my traditional hot Reuben spread the rest of the day. I'm really looking forward to it.
